Move Better, Ride Lighter: Small changes that make big differences.

  • 5 Steps

Move Better, Ride Lighter Small changes to everyday movement that make a real difference to your horse Rider fitness is often seen as something separate from everyday life - workouts, exercises, and time set aside to improve. But what if the way you move throughout your day matters just as much? This course explores how your daily habits - at the yard, at home, and even sitting or driving - quietly shape your balance, stability, and movement in the saddle. Rather than adding more to your routine, this approach focuses on doing what you already do… a little differently. Through simple, practical ideas, you’ll begin to notice: how your body organises itself the habits you may not realise you have and how small changes can improve stability and ease You’ll learn what “engaging your core” actually means, how it should feel, and how it supports both everyday tasks and riding. As your awareness develops, you may find: your seat becomes quieter your hands and legs feel more independent and your riding requires less effort Most importantly, we explore how these changes are experienced by your horse - creating a more balanced, consistent, and comfortable partnership. This is not about perfection, pressure, or doing more. It’s about building awareness, making small adjustments, and allowing those changes to build over time. Because the way you move matters. And your horse feels all of it.
